The November Apple Event Is Happening: Here’s What To Expect

For a while, there’s been long shipping delays on many current Mac models. At first, it was put down to supply chain issues amidst the pandemic. Then, it was said to be because of a new device coming to the market. Now, we think we might just have the answer.

A ‘One More Thing’ Apple Event has been announced for Tuesday 10th November prompting Apple enthusiasts all over the world to speculate about whether or not the first Silicon Mac is on its way. Here, we explain why, along with everything to expect from the November 2020 Apple Event…

The first Apple Silicon Macs

During the previous WWDC 2020 event, Apple announced that Intel chips would be replaced with its own ARM-based Silicon processor to deliver faster performance and improved battery life. They even revealed that the first Silicon Mac could be shipped by the end of the year. The question is: which device will Apple release with the Silicon chip first?

Rumours suggest that a new MacBook, powered by the Silicon chip, is currently being worked on. However, we’re hoping that the tech giant is instead going to announce the first in the line of new Silicon-based products – including desktops.

13-inch MacBook Air or MacBook Pro or even a MacBook?

A stronger contender for the Silicon based Macs is a device that will replace the current 13-inch MacBook Air. This could either be a revamped version of the 13-inch MacBook Air or a redesigned 12-inch MacBook powered by Apple Silicon.

Rumours on social media also indicate that we should anticipate a 13-inch display over a 12-inch display with messages like ‘13-inch X2’ going around. This may mean there could be two 13-inch MacBooks at the Apple Event: a MacBook Air and a MacBook Pro. If it were to be the MacBook Pro the 1.4GHz 13” model is our favourite to move. Maybe Apple will combine the Air and this MacBook Pro into a new MacBook.

Intel-based 16-inch MacBook Pro

If you’re looking to get your hands on a new MacBook Pro before the end of 2020, there have been leaks of a final, 10th generation Intel-based 16-inch MacBook Pro.  There have also been rumours that the 16” will be in line for a Silicon Chip. If we had to put our money we reckon the 16” with stay in Intel for one last time.  If that is the case there’s a chance that Apple will release this ahead of the November 10th, 2020 Apple Event, so keep your eyes peeled for any upcoming announcements.

iMac

Specific code has also been found in MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1 that mentions three unreleased Macs for 2020. While two of them could be MacBooks mentioned above, there is a possibility that the third could be an iMac Pro or an Apple Silicon 24-inch iMac.

The latter has been rumoured for months and so we’ll likely see the new Apple Silicon 24-inch iMac replace the previous 21.5-inch model.
