Here at Lease Loop we run our business on 13” MacBook Pro with Functions Keys. Their 2.3Ghz, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD configurations are perfect for running Office 365 and Google apps.
There is one problem with them and it is a real pain in the neck.
In fairness it’s not the Mac, it’s me! As a forty something working from a MacBook, sat at a desk all day, I started to develop a really sore neck. At first, I put it down to sleeping poorly but changing pillows and sleeping positions had zero impact. Not being the sharpest tool in the box it did take me some time to work out that by constantly leaning over my Mac I was stretching and stressing the muscles in my upper back and neck.
I had to raise my MacBook so that it was more in line with my vision. Now obviously, being an Apple fan meant that I need a solution that was a little bit classier than placing my Mac on top of a stack of books or magazines.
For me rain design mStand was the solution. To quote their website “mStand transforms your notebook into a stylish and stable workstation so you can work comfortably and safely all day.” Perfect.
There are a number of things I like about the mStand. One it’s inexpensive and its design looks like something Apple would have made themselves. You also get a choice of colours. Silver, Gold or Space grey to compliment your portable Mac. Only Rose Gold MacBook users will be unable to coordinate their stand to their Mac.
I have paired my Mac with a wireless Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2 and I know have a lot less discomfort. Also, I get looks of compliments about the mStand with people remarking that it is such a good idea.
Now after the iMac the MacBook Pro range is our most popular product. It occurs to me that we possibly have a significant number of customers who use their MacBooks primarily as a work station. We are able to offer the mStand with an Apple Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2 for only £1.80 + VAT per week to any new lease.
We would also like to hear from you. What other type of accessories would you like us to offer to improve your Mac experience? Any suggestions would be gladly welcomed and if we can offer it on a lease we will do so.
