AppleCare

Every Mac that we lease comes with 3 years of AppleCare warranty. Here we outline what that means and why we believe it gives our lease customers the very best solution.

So what is AppleCare? The AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac provides up to three years of expert telephone technical support and additional hardware service options direct from Apple. We pre-register every Mac that we send out with AppleCare meaning that our customers can sit back and relax. As part of their Welcome Pack they receive their AppleCare certificate proving that their machine is covered.

24/7 Telephone support

The telephone support covers your Mac, macOS and Apple-branded applications such as Photos, iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers, Keynote and more. You can also utilise it to help you to connect to a printer or an Airport network. It even provides assistance for iCloud.

Its real strength, however, is that you get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts via chat or phone through getsupport.apple.com. We believe that in today’s working environment this is huge. No longer are people just working Monday to Friday 9-5. Increasingly we are working evenings and weekends and if your Mac develops a fault during these times traditional support options just don’t cut it. With AppleCare, if your Mac develops a fault at 5:01pm on a Friday, you don’t have to wait until 9am Monday to get help.

What happens if your Mac cannot be fixed over the phone?

If the worst happens and your Mac has a fault that requires further analysis or a repair, then it will sadly have to go away for a while. However, there is no need for you to book a Genuis Bar appointment and trundle into your local Apple store! Either we or AppleCare will arrange everything for your machine to be picked up and delivered to an Apple Service Centre. Here, your machine will be intensively tested, and any repairs necessary will be undertaken before the machine is then retested. Once everything is running normally, the machine will be sent directly back to you.

What do you do in the meantime?

Typically it’ll be about 10-14 business days from the moment your faulty machine is collected to the time it returns. Whether you are a sole director business or a company with many employees the thought of having a person without a Mac for that length of time is scary. That’s why we will offer you a temporary loan machine to use while yours is away for repair. Delivered the next business day, your loan Mac will be preloaded with macOS Sierra and Office for Mac. Once your repaired Mac has returned, we give you a couple of days to transfer any data across before we arrange for a courier to come and collect it. This gives you confidence that you can keep your business up and running even when the worst has happened.

Macs never go wrong!(?)

It’s worth nothing that whilst Macs have a good reputation for reliability, especially when compared to PCs, they can still go wrong. Reports have shown that around 17% of portable Macs and 10% of desktop Macs will develop a fault over 2 years. With the machines becoming increasingly complex to repair, we believe that using AppleCare gives our customers piece of mind. They have complete confidence that their Mac is being assessed and repaired by an Apple Certified Engineer. What’s more, it is being repaired using genuine Apple parts.

We deliberately choose AppleCare as the warranty product for our lease customers. We believe that it gives the most comprehensive and reassuring cover for our lease customers. Regardless of whether you have a 2 or 3 year lease from us, you still get 3 years of AppleCare coverage and 3 years of temporary loan machine coverage.
