How Lease Loop supported Match Pint’s Apple device acquisition without jeopardizing their cash flow.
MatchPint is a website and smartphone app that allows fans to easily locate pubs that are showing sports fixtures. The idea was initially formed by two school friends after they struggled to find a place to watch the 8th Six Nations Championship.
Now, 12 years later and in the middle of another epic Six Nations Championship, MatchPint is a team of over 20. They have just launched a brand-new game in the app called the Guinness Pint Predictor which is the first step into many international app developments to come.
For this, they require high-end Macs and continuous additions to their headcount. Calculating the costs of these necessities, they realised an alternative was needed when it came to their technology.
Head of Operations, Robert Stewart, tells us how Lease Loop has helped them reap the rewards of Apple devices, without risking their cash flow…
The background
We found out about Lease Loop through a mutual contact who had been using them for over two years. They were incredibly satisfied, and upon phoning Lease Loop we understood why.
Lease Loop were friendly, passionate and quickly recognised exactly what our business required. It was clear that it wasn’t about our size and how much money they could get from us, but about what we actually needed. This meant we quickly built a really positive relationship together.
The solution
Our first order was so smooth that we’ve continued to use Lease Loop every time we hire new team members. Even when we’ve requested an order at short notice, they swiftly send a quote back and arrange a speedy delivery.
They have also offered solutions outside their traditional model of work. For some of our team members that are more familiar with Windows devices, Lease Loop have assisted with these orders too. This is a perfect demonstration of how they go above and beyond.
As a startup, where cash flow is king, we’ve really benefitted from leasing Macs rather than buying them outright. It’s allowed us to manage our costs better, enabling us to reach our growth goals quicker.
The support
The support we’ve received from Lease Loop has been of a fantastic standard. We know they are always at the end of the phone, and they’re responsive to any queries or issues.
When one of our team managed to break their Mac within two weeks of starting, for example, Lease Loop did what was needed to get everything quickly sorted. They’re also helping our business in other ways – connecting us with contacts potentially interested in our business.
We’ve just completed our third order from Lease Loop, and the fourth is imminent as we look to hire a further three people in the coming months.
Our recruitment drive isn’t showing signs of slowing down, especially as we recently launched the next phase of our app development with the Guinness Pint Predictor for the Six Nations. This is expanding the app from its functional product with a more interactive and emotional side, and it will be a game changer for the future of our business.
As we continue to grow and invest in our future, we’ll require additional powerful Macs – and Lease Loop will be our port of call for as long as watching sport with mates remains the ultimate social experience.
